Strengthening Education System in East Africa - SESEA (2013 - 2018) |
SESEA was a five year project which started in 2013 funded by Aga Khan Foundation (AKF). The SESEA project has three components designed to strengthen, over time, the performance of the overall education system in the target areas and beyond.
While SESEA has incorporated strengthening gender responsiveness within education systems, it was recognized that more advanced and intensive support was required in the West Nile region. Read more

Reducing stigma and discrimination of HIV/AIDS victims project was implemented in Ajia Sub County, Arua district. The project focused on providing nutritional education and counseling, vocational and modern farming skills for care givers, people living with HIV/AIDS and orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), especially those from low income families.
This project was necessary because people of Ajia Sub County live in a vicious cycle of poverty, characterized by low incomes leading to low savings and investments and therefore low production. Read more

Community Empowerment Programme (CEP) was a 3- year programme which was implemented from July 2011- April 2014.TheProgramme Had 4 major Components, namely; school gardens, school WASH, Community WASH and civil Society Organization (CSOs) Strengthening.
Hear International (HI) however mainly focused on school gardens in 13 primary schools and 520 households in Ajia and Okollo sub-counties in Arua district, Uganda. Read more
